Since we were in Vancouver, BC, for one of our boudoir marathons, we opened up our schedule to allow for other portrait shoots. One such shoot was with this awesome couple, Jordan and Rheanne! We didn’t get to shoot Jordan and Rheanne’s wedding last year, but that didn’t stop us from doing a wedding shoot and trash the dress session with them THIS year!

Vancouver’s beautiful Stanley Park was the backdrop for our photoshoot. We got lost in the beauty of the ancient trees, lush greenery, and gorgeous sunset over the peaceful ocean. It’s almost overwhelming to have so much beauty all in one place!

Lady Gaga, Wonder Woman, Belle & Rachel!

Baby Carter Arrives!

We LOVE when we get to follow our clients as life changes and as their families grow. In this case, the Mahs are just like family, so when we got to shoot baby Carter’s first professional pics, we were over the moon excited!

You can see a picture of Rachel holding Carter that Lawrence took after the shoot (we stole it off Facebook to share with you) – beware couples, Rachel always steals the baby at the end for a few cuddles! Lawrence & Dennell also squeezed in a quick maternity shoot just a few days before baby Carter arrived – if you wanna check out their AMAZING pics, go to their maternity shoot here.

Baby Jaxon’s Joyful Portrait Session

Cynthia and Jason are two incredibly loving parents, and everything they do welcomes you into their family. Even their pets (though the kitties pretended they were too cool for us) welcome you in with requests for pets and cuddles. This made it a pleasure to drive out to Bon Accord, Alberta, to shoot their newborn session.

There are some funny moments that we had to leave in – so we hope you don’t take these pics too seriously. Baby Jaxon has a sense of humour, and he made it known which poses he was willing to be a part of. He had our stomachs in stitches as we laughed through the session.

1940s Portrait Sessions – Pin-Up, Glamour & Fun

Inspiration can come in many forms for us. It could be other photographers, a great movie, an awesome dinner, an exotic trip, or in this case, some awesome friends. After we created a scene that had been floating in Rachel’s head for a while, all the ladies who offered their time for the shoot received a mini-portrait session to showcase their individuality as a thanks from us. And, today we’ve included those sessions below!

We hit up the Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, CN Railway Station for its timeless stage, and we think it worked out perfectly! We introduced the girls and their characters in the post Getting Inspired by a Decade – The 1940s, so, if you missed out on that post, go check it out now!

Special thanks go to our assistant Aadil for helping wrangle dogs, flowers, batteries and more! Here he is at work:

And finally, Rachel. This shoot was inspired by my grandmother’s hats which she wore in the 40s and 50s. One of them is seen below on top of Rachel’s head!
