We met this couple the day of the shoot, but since we’d already talked by email, we felt we already knew this fun-loving, awesome couple and we really enjoyed the shoot. They were not shy of kissing in public, sitting in dirty alleys, and willing to wait it out as their crazy photographer jumped into garbage bins to get the shot.

The smoke (though light in these pictures) did some incredible things to Edmonton’s light. It went hazy, soft, and RED. Yes, RED. It made for some interesting changes to our photos that we’ve never seen before. We hope you enjoy the hazy burnt goodness evident in these pics – and remember, we didn’t use any red/orange/yellow filters on these pics – this was actually the light!!

We hope you love your truly unique photos, Dustyn and Collette! You two deserve the hot, sultry, smokiness of this light. It fit you two perfectly. Here are a few of our favs!!

We metered for the red light here, so you could see just how hazy red it was!!

Did I mention they were HOT? Steeeeaaaammmy.

Erin does the most endearing thing when Mike goes to kiss her, she breaks out into the biggest smile the instant before their lips touch. It’s seriously the most heart-melting moment when you see the joy they feel just being able to touch each other.

And, check out how cute their puppy, Jaxson, looks in these shots. He was a perfect bundle of energy that kept us laughing throughout the shoot because he’s a springer that really does “spring” right up in the air.

And finally, CANDY! Who doesn’t love candy? I think I saw more adults hitting up the candy bar in the guise of giving it to the kids. Regardless, it makes for a happy reception, and we LOVE that it’s a new and tasty trend popping up at most of our weddings!

Finally, thanks to the amazing bridal party at this wedding – you guys & gals made every step of the day an hilarious adventure, and we appreciate you hiking in heels and standing in waist-high grass while we stole some one-on-one time with the couple during formals. You really rock!
