Daniel and I (Rachel) have been married for just over 4 years (March 11, if any of you want to send belated gifts, haha), and it’s been four of some of the busiest years of our lives. We immediately started a company (Diamonds Photography Inc.), bought a house, entirely reno’d said house, travelled for weddings and to visit friends, changed jobs, finished schooling and took courses, and generally tried to have a normal life in the midst of four jobs, no sleep and no weekends to ourselves.
Back to the reason for this post…we first met in September 2005 at a bar. Yes, we know it’s prosaic – but it was odd for us since at that time we rarely went to clubs or pubs. This time it was a “study” meet for my Journalism class, and Dan was invited to come by my classmate Jared (later a groomsman at our wedding) as Dan was friends with a few of my fellow J-schoolers. Dan and I laughed, made inside jokes, but nothing came of it. Fast forward 6 months later, and we were reintroduced by my friend and classmate Janelle (later a bridesmaid at our wedding) at my birthday party – again, held at a club by my j-school friends. From then on, we were inseparable.
We met (again). Fell in love. Got engaged at 6 months. Got married at 6 more. Working hard to live happily ever after.
This takes us to today’s post. The place where we were first introduced by friends was torn down to create new, and probably hideous, condos downtown. I don’t have a picture of what The Globe used to look like, but I did save a brick from the demolition to solidify this moment in time for us. I don’t know what the future holds for the two of us, but I’ve never been more excited to share my life with anyone else, and can’t wait to see where Dan and I will end up.
Enough mushy stuff, here are some pics!

Who knew a ring would come out of that “chance” meeting?
